Recently I have been recovering from two broken feet after a very misfortunate fall down my front steps. It has been two months of long days, and learning to let others care for me and help me navigate the world while my body heals.
Up until recently I didn’t have the ability to really do much. I had to put all my Made By Mum on hold and wasn’t able to really do much with it. My husband decided to bring down some of my felt and tools from my craft room to the main floor. We set up on a hospital table and I started to create some items for Valentine’s Day with no pressure.
I kind of went into it just wanting to make a few things and feel some joy from creating again. It turned out that I was able to create quite a few items. I needed those moments of slow stitching and trying different techniques to see what worked best. I missed it so much.
Sometimes when things don’t go the way you had planned you just need to try to focus on other things that bring you joy and make something that is made with love.
