It was only a few years ago when I actually tried a macaron for the first time. I always thought that they looked so perfect and beautiful. Then I actually ate one and thought it was heaven. I couldn’t believe how many different flavours there were. They were like colours of the rainbow and looked too perfect to be eaten.
It wasn’t until a watched my daughter make macarons that I developed even more of an appreciation for these tiny treasures. The sizing had to be perfect, the temperature just right, the filling just so, and then perfection. Sometimes the bottom wouldn’t be the same as the top. Ha ha! Sometimes the filling would be too much, so much trial and error to make these little bites.
When I started making felt play food, I knew macarons had to be on the list. And would you believe even creating these beauties in felt still takes the same time and consideration. I need to remind myself if the two halves are the exact size, do they appear to have close to the same puffiness, but not too much, and my stitching needs to have attention to detail. And, then just like real macarons, magic happens.
I absolutely love these beautiful felt macarons and hope that you will too. Whether its for a special occasion, to add to your child’s play kitchen as a special treat, a photo prop or even to add to a child’s high tea party tray, this is the item for you.
I feel like these look so life like and that means I did a good job. The little slide box just adds to the detail and makes me smile every time I open one. These macarons are the bees knees, will they be at your next tea party?
